Man arrested for DUI and numerous other charges

A man in Georgia is facing numerous charges, including DUI charges for driving while under the impairment of drugs, after what news reports have called a two-day crime spree.

Reports indicate that it all began when the man was driving a vehicle at night but without the headlights on. This is a simple and yet dangerous mistake, so police tried to stop the car. The man decided to run from the police, and they did not chase him. Instead, they just sent out a notice about what had happened so that other units could look for the car.

It did not take long for them to find him, as the man was waiting at a stop sign. Officers approached again and found out that the man’s vehicle was actually stolen. On top of that, they claimed he had been using prescription drugs and marijuana. He was then arrested on DUI charges and counts for theft, a headlight violation and running from the police.

Due to health concerns, rather than keeping him in jail, the authorities left him at his mother’s house. The next day, the man allegedly broke into the post office and then fled again. He tried and failed to steal a second car. He ended up stealing a bike, instead. He was riding it when officers found him. They arrested him again, adding these new charges to his record, and this time they kept him in jail.

Cases like this show just how fast someone’s life can change in around 24 hours. Those facing significant charges need to know what defense options they have.
